Backend Engineer – Romania (Remote)

Our client, a consultancy with a strong focus on Data & Analytics, is seeking a Backend Engineer to join our client’s team on a contract basis. You will play a key role in designing and building robust backend services and production-grade APIs, supporting scalable solutions for a variety of client projects. This is a fully remote opportunity based in Romania, offering the chance to work on complex, cloud-native systems in Microsoft Azure.

Key Skills and Experience

• API Design – Ability to design clear, secure, and scalable APIs that are easy to integrate and maintain over time.

• Modular Monolith Architecture – Experience structuring applications into well-defined modules to improve maintainability and performance.

• Testing – Strong focus on automated testing to ensure reliability, reduce defects, and support continuous delivery.

• CI/CD – Hands-on experience setting up and maintaining continuous integration and deployment pipelines for rapid, safe releases.

• Containerization – Proficiency with container technologies to package and run services consistently across environments.

• Production APIs & Backend Automation at Scale – Proven track record of building and operating APIs and automation workflows in live, high-traffic environments.

• Microsoft Azure Cloud Architecture – Deep practical knowledge of Azure compute, networking, and identity services to design secure, scalable cloud solutions.

• Data & Analytics Focus – Ability to support data-driven solutions, enabling our client’s projects to leverage data for insight and value.
