ML – Data Scientist – Contract Opportunity in Milan

We are partnering with our client, a consultancy operating at the forefront of data-driven transformation, to find a Senior AI/ML Data Scientist to join our client’s team on a contract basis in Milan. This role is ideal for an experienced professional (5+ years) who can lead and deliver advanced forecasting projects, particularly within the retail industry, while collaborating with stakeholders in a smart-working environment with occasional on-site meetings in Milan.

Key Skills & Experience

• Time-Series Forecasting – Proven experience designing, implementing, and validating forecasting models, including handling seasonality, trends, and irregular patterns in large-scale time-series data.

• Forecasting Project Delivery – End-to-end ownership of forecasting initiatives, from problem definition and data preparation through model selection, evaluation, and deployment into production environments.

• AI / Machine Learning Expertise – Senior-level (5+ years) experience applying ML techniques to real-world business problems, interpreting results, and translating them into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

• Retail Industry Knowledge – Understanding of retail-specific metrics, demand patterns, and commercial drivers to ensure models are aligned with business realities and decision-making needs.

• SAP – Experience working with SAP environments, enabling effective integration of data pipelines and analytics solutions within our client’s technology landscape.

Working Arrangement

• Smart working as the primary mode of collaboration.

• Approx. one monthly meeting in Milan (to be confirmed) with our client’s team.
